El Municipio de Quilmes, a través Agencia de Medio Ambiente -a cargo de Guillermo Sánchez Sterli- y la cooperativa Recipol firmaron un convenio de cooperación y concientización para la separación de residuos sólidos urbanos, que entre otras cosas, implica la promoción e inclusión de los trabajadores informales en el circuito de reciclado.
Durante el acto, que se desarrolló en la Casa de la Cultura –Rivadavia y Sarmiento-, se entregaron pecheras identificatorias y credenciales, donadas por el Organismo Provincial para el Desarrollo Sostenible (OPDS).
Recipol es la segunda cooperativa que se suma al Programa Municipal de Reciclado. Asimismo, el intendente Molina firmó un convenio con la Cooperativa de Cartoneros de Villa Itatí, quienes también formarán parte de este circuito de recuperación de residuos.
El convenio pautado busca fomentar la separación en origen de los sólidos domiciliarios; promover la inclusión de los recuperadores informales mediante la generación de nuevos puestos de trabajo; optimizar la logística de recolección, transporte y transferencia para lograr mayor eficiencia; la colaboración para la prevención de la formación de basurales y por último, incentivar la aplicación de nuevas tecnologías para el tratamiento y disposición final de residuos sólidos urbanos (RSD).
